Hello
Hello everyone,
My name is Joel. I have been into flight sims on and off since the first one came out on the Apple II. It has been a while since I had a sim draw me in like DCS a-10. I am presently getting up to speed on the amazing number of controls in DCS a-10.
I am really happy with the level of 3rd party support this game is getting. I picked up iControl DCS for the ipad and it has made managing systems a lot faster for me. It's nice being able to click on a touchscreen instead of buttons with the mouse.
This VFG Looks like it has a lot to offer. Any recommendations for preparation for future kittens in order to make sure we move through that stage as fast as possible?
Regards,
Joel

Welcome joel
As a Kitten who is at the end of the training programme I can only suggest you try to get a good feeling for the aircraft - basic flight manuevers and air-to-air refuelling are two cool things to start with. BFM will give you a feel for her while AAR will make you trim her right and eventually formation flying will be easy for you.
Cool nick by the way - I have a Mjöllnir runic symbol tattooed on my right arm ;)

It is a cool symbol. It I tried to use Mjölnir but the system did not like the use of umlauts in the name.
AAR should prove a lot more taxing than landing on a carrier in my old F/A-18 Sim days. But then again mastering a difficult skill comes with greater satisfaction then an easy one.
I have always loved the a-10 and the multiplayer aspect is a huge draw. This game has incredible depth and I have only scratched the surface.
From the looks of the interest in the 476th training program I should have ample time to get more familiar with the systems. During which I will read , post questions and fly fly fly.

Welcome mate. Practice, practice and all will come good!

Hey, Joel! F/A-18 and F-15 are the only two sim titles I didn't buy back in the day; I don't know if I didn't feel I was up to the complexity or if it was due to my having so much fun with Longbow 2. :D At any rate, A-10C is the t*ts in my opinion so you've got great taste.

Not sure if you all do this already but this is new to me and hugely useful.

I also found this one to be quite useful.

It really illustrates just how flexible and powerful these systems are.
