Thanks for the warm welcome. Almost feeling home already.
@Wil: Always good to see a "brother in arms". Are you retired?

Gideon,
I assume you have TARS properly installed and configured with DCS and Teamspeak. If so, then:
when you have the TARS control panel open, by default it will assign the MIC FWD to radio VHF-AM, MIC DOWN to radio UHF, and MIC AFT to radio VHF-FM. There is nothing else you need to do. When you get into DCS Multiplayer and you are in the cockpit, just get the APU and APU GEN running, turn on your radios to proper frequencies, and you start speaking by pushing the MIC button on your TM Warthog to whichever radio you want to broadcast on. It's as simple as that.

To add to gopher ... dont forget to de-select (in the game itself) the radio menus that are defaulted to the mic switch or else everytime you talk on TARS the radio menu pops-up.
You can however make a modifier key (I did this with the big switch at the button of the stick) and then while pressing the modifier acces to the ingame radio menu with the regular mic switches.

Just try to run it right now with a buddy --> I have comms via TS3 until I unpause the mission (in the cockpit), from that moment I don't have comms on TS3 and/or TARS!!
Copied WarthogSmurf, the problem is that I assign (via the TARS control panel.) them with the combo pinky switch and mic switch, but ingame I still get the ingame radio menu pop up?
