Anyone know if the F/A-18C can see a FLIR image on the HUD like the F-15E? That would be damn cool for night missions in DCS.
Not that I've seen, no. Although you can have the NAVFLIR image on the MFD if you're carrying the pod.
I guess that would be kind of similar to trying to fly whilst looking through an AGM-65D seeker though. Unless the NAVFLIR MFD screen has pitch markings and a FPM similar to the HUD?
I don't think the Charlie can, the Super Hornet can project a NFLR image on the HUD. I'm not sure if it also is applicable with an ATFLIR pod....
Suppose I could have wrote out the entire 5 page account from "Strike Eagle: Flying the F-15E in the Gulf War" by William L. Smallwood but I figured that would be a little overkill. I've read this story from numerous sources. Regardless of its source the wiki synopsis, albeit a brief one, is factual as I know it.
