Changing LGB code in DSMS?

Flying in a two ship the other day, both aircraft were using LGB's in a 'self lasing form'. We both had the default 1688 laser code on the LGB's and TGP. I was hoping to change laser codes, and did this with no problem on the TGP, but was unable to change the ordinance code on the weapon inventory page. Did I miss something obvious?

You had to.

It's not in the DSMS profile but rather Inventory page.

So in effect you go inventory, select station that GBU12 is on, select GBU, than 12. You should then see the laser code on the side. All you have to do after you have set your laser code, is "load" or "load sym".

So if I understand....change the laser code in the TGP....then 'load' DSMS page, and the code shown next to the weapon on the DSMS will have synchronised with what I entered in the TGP.
On a side note....can any random number be used, our is there any criteria to note.

Nope. TGP code and Weapon code are 2 complete different things.

You have to go to the inventory page to set the code on the bomb(s).
You do that best during your startup process, as IRL the code can actually not be changed in the aircraft, but is set by the groundcrew.

You set your TGP laser code to the same if you want to lase your own LGB's onto the target;

A while ago, I created a video to configure DSMS, I believe I also changed the LGB laser code in that one. Have a look on it.

Ok, I thought they were separate. I went into the weapon inventory page, but couldn't manage to find out how to change the code. I will look for the video and I'm sure all will come apparent. Can't fly until weekend, so will try it out then.

To sum up, the TGP code is the Tx and the Weapon inventory page code is the Rx.

Just gave the manual a good reading, and all is clear now. Follow the inventory page through the sub systems until you get to that particular weapon settings.

Maybe you didn't change code because you typed wrong codes numbers.
If you change the laser codes, new must be between 1111 and 1788.

Try with 1444 or 1555.

1111 - 1688

The first digit must be 1, the second between 1 & 6, and the third and forth between 1 & 8.
