How Not to Engage a Shilka

Did a nice solo flight into Tiger last night just to work out the cobwebs. Single-ship search & destroy. Took out some SAMs, Dog Ear, and AAA with a couple mavs, JDAMs, and Mk-82s, and then found a Shilka on my RWR. Took a closer look to get him to "pop some flares" so I could locate him (nice of him to send up a couple!)...then got a little too excited, didn't extend out far enough...and got sprayed right in the face at 0.8nm.

Patience is a virtue. If I had some, and extended out just another 20 seconds, this #%$ wouldn't happen.

Well atleast you still fly .... cant see mine encounters with a shilka and a GUA-8 where that succesful =)
