    Suppress/Disable MFDs on Primary Display

    I haven't had any luck finding this in the forums, but does anyone know if there is a way to suppress or disable the MFDs on your main monitor when running MFDs on a second screen? My frame rates are tanking to like 10 FPS when around Kutasi. I know the answer is a new video card, but until one arrives...

    Already at minimum setting for my preferred resolution.

    You can do that in ..\Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common\Cockpit\ViewportHandl ing.lua

    look for "render_purpose.GENERAL" (without the quotes). It's on line 57 for me.
    Comment it out, and the in-sim MFDs stay dark.

    So, Before
    Code:
    purposes 		= {render_purpose.GENERAL,
    				    render_purpose.HUD_ONLY_VIEW,
    				    render_purpose.SCREENSPACE_OUTSIDE_COCKPIT,
    				    render_purpose.SCREENSPACE_INSIDE_COCKPIT}
    And after
    Code:
    purposes 		= {--render_purpose.GENERAL,
    				    render_purpose.HUD_ONLY_VIEW,
    				    render_purpose.SCREENSPACE_OUTSIDE_COCKPIT,
    				    render_purpose.SCREENSPACE_INSIDE_COCKPIT}

    At first I thought it was my imagination, but I'm actually getting a slight frame rate bump by suppressing the MFDs on the main display and pushing them to a second monitor...it's not much 2-3 FPS, but when you are down in the teens and low twenties its a nice little boost. Maybe its because my video card isn't having to try and render the MFDs in 3D space, instead they are just plastered on my second display.

    Can't imagine ever going back!

    I never could live with the MFDs being black in screenshots, so I traded the few fps for a nicer look.
