    Pop-up Attack

    Hi gents,

I was reading your 3.3 A10c manual, about Pop-up patterns, but I couldn't find any information about the Pull-down, and apex values... Which values are you guys using when running these attacks??

    Regards

    Wolfheart

    Hi Wolfheart

    simply, it depends...
There are at least as many variables during pop-up attack as there is during DB or LALD deliveries - you need to take into account things like intended dive angle, ordnance type, run in speed and altitude or weapons profile (quantity, single or pair) - all of this affects the finally calculated values for apex or pull-down point.

    Thanks for the reply IronHog.
That I'm aware of...but what I'm asking is where you get the values from. For instance we have the Z-diagrams for standard patterns but I can't get any for the tactical ones ( you call them pop-up pattern I suppose).
    Thanks in advance

They're generated by mission planning software, so there aren't any available publicly beyond what you might find in things like the Hawgsmoke documents.

We have an attack planning tool that we use to generate values but it's not available outside our group.

The best thing to do is just employ some rule of thumb stuff as described in the -3, that will give you a usable attack if not technically perfect.

Thanks for the answer Eddie. That's what I'm actually doing...trying to figure out some refs, just for 45ยบ/aim-off attacks
    Thanks anyway...
