    GAU/8A & PGU-14/B

Found an interresting study from the University of Pardubice; Czheck Republic about the GAU-8/A effectivness and the damage from DU. There have been widely debates wether or not the GAU-8/A is effective enough to destroy MBT´s, or if it´s just a myth.

As we all know, the GAU-8/A in DCS are not a reliable source to speculate in the true effectivness of the gun in real combat. What I guess we all can agree about is that it is a formidable weapon against many targets - but is it really as effective against tanks (modern vs old) as its reputation says it is?

You mean the title? It also said that it has 8 barrels...

I don´t know if the typos affects the overall content of the study, but I agree - it makes it less trustworthy.

What makes this article less trustworthy is the fact that it isn't peer reviewed. For an academical paper's content to be taken for granted within the scientific community it has to be reviewed and approved by (several) other scholars besides those from the publishing university.

It's probably still a good read, but you can't use it for research.
