Radios: left ear, right ear, or both?

Both TARS and Aries by default enable FWD for your left ear, AFT for your right ear, and MID for both ears. Given that both tools are designed with improved realism in mind I'd assume that's how the actual 10C radios work. However, I vaguely recall Snoopy mentioning something about that being incorrect but now I'm not sure anymore.

So, how does it work in the current suite 10C, and was it any different back in the suite 3.X test days?

Audio goes to both ears. You can help differentiate between radios been changing the volume of each.

Is that a real life practice to adjust volume per radio? Do you happen to have guidelines on that?

Yes, it's real-life practice to set the priority radio to have the highest volume.

Which radio constitutes the "priority" radio would depend on the situation. Flying into a civilian airfield...probably ATC on Victor. Most other times...probably Uniform.

I assume that victor in general refers to the VHF FM and VHF AM but not specifically either one of the two, right?

VHF AM is Victor; VHF FM is Fox Mike.

It's also acceptable to use Front, Mid, and Aft. The terms are used interchangeably.
