    If it's only that black wire thats damaged I'd just cut out the damaged section and resolder it. Then wrap it in insulation tape to keep it protected.

    Sounds like you've found a simpler fix though!

    Hey Gunny,
    That's a pretty easy fix for anyone comfortable with electronics. I'd look around at electronics repair shops before buying a new one. If all else fails you can pay for shipping (to Canada) and I'll fix it for free.

    I checked my purchase date and it was only Apr28, less than 2 months, so I'm just going to get a new one and not hassle with a patch. Their QA must have taken a dump that day. I'll just pull out an ole legacy stick and suck it up till Thur.

    Unpacking the new WH HOTAS as we speak. Can you smell that new Hog scent? Aahh.

    Need to let it cool down it's hot as hell. 94F and humid.
