I don't know who this BlueRidge guy is, but he sure sounds handsome, rich, and successful.

Anywho, it looks like you figured it out, TRN is a loaded roll to a nose-low slicing turn, while TLT is pull to the horizon with an unloaded roll to a level (or slightly climbing) turn. MRS and MRC are still bugged, so even when you're doing it right you're going to see spurious abort cues.

Also, I invite you to rewatch the Range Objects video. I don't see my TVV anywhere near 5 degrees during my apparently epic TLT. You sure you're watching this one?

It was me and that's why it's called "training"

I have to admit.. I'm practicing proper gun runs w/ TLTs right now on the range but in the heat of the action when everything's going aggressively and quickly, it can be a bit tricky to get that TVV perfectly on the horizon and not overshoot it with a chopped tone.

During such maneuvers I really notice the difference between a clean jet and 2x 65, 4x 82, 2x 131, 2x AIM, ECM.. Or it might be the placebo effect. But I still think I notice it.

Definitely not a placebo. That's why, ideally, you would try to get rid of your standoff weapons first before moving in with the gun.

And yeah, everything happens very quickly. If you do it right, you should only be wings-level for three seconds before you squeeze the trigger, take a two second tactical burst, then aggressively SEM making sure never to penetrate the 3/9 line of your strafe target. It's a lot of precision flying, especially if you're on the radio calling "off" the target with your left hand, and dispensing CMS with your right hand.

Like most things, slow is smooth, and smooth is fast. Don't snatch the stick; you'll get the nose moving only to find that your g-onset rate and pitch rate are so high that you overshoot into the chopped tone and the jet begins to roll off. Lead the horizon, get the stick centered and unload the jet before rolling. Max perform roll to about 80 degrees of bank, then get on the steady tone. Control pitch (TVV position) with backpressure: Drifting low? Pull harder. Drifting High? Relax the pull. Don't forget your flares.

I'm putting out flares already but since I'm practicing on my own I'm not calling "tipping in" and "off" but I should at least press the button and say it in my own mind to complete the whole procedure.

I take it in case of the Hog stand-off weapons come down to only MAVs, or do JDAMS/Wickmids/Paveways count as stand-off too?
