    This week is primarily to ensure mods are good to go so we don't have to abort a training sortie once training does start. If that goes well the plan is to discuss ground procedures (lighting, radio calls, etc) so training pilots know the "basic" items to safely operate in the dedicated server.

    Is there anything regarding those ground procedures that I won't find in the OIs?

    It's all in the OIs. The rule is basically before going through the basic stuff with an IP or established 76th or 81st pilot training pilots are not authorized to flying on the DS.

    Not really no. Maybe the odd thing might be clearer when explained but that's all. It's mostly the Flight log and ops board stuff tgat well cover, but we can cover that over the week sometime.

    If any Trainee(s) feel the need for it, I can hop in TS and help out with some questions you have. Might as well do a FAM-flight if you are feeling comfortable.

    Are fam flights with a member on the DS allowed before trainees have had their IQT1?

    As long as everything is pre-planned and done with responsibility I would say yes. The more flights on the DS the better. But as Snoopy said earlier, knowing basic stuff like radio calls, lightning and procedures is absolutely essential.

    Being a wingman is in general easy, but if FL comms break and you have to lead the flight home, you have to know the procedures. But again if I, as a FL feel comfortable that you can do it, you shouldn´t be held back!

    Any flight that I will do with a TP will strictly be on the Trainees terms, on what he/she wants to practice for the given flight. Its all for making people comfortable and making progress in their own pace.

    Provided you have a flight lead who is at least BMQ rated, yes. Although keep it simple to start with.
