This recruiting cycle gave Ole Gunny some flashbacks.

Ok listen up Recruits! Ole Gunny's gonna recommend you definitely bone up on your AAR and ILS. I was sweating bullets.

Tip: don't tense up and make sure you relax and breath.

Good luck to those who take their check ride.

Jeez. Not the biggest fan of AAR, but I guess now is the time to get good!

Frodo you are correct sir. I remembered that tip you gave me after a couple nipple slips. It worked.

But with Dojo using a Hot Mic and breathing, sighing, and chuckling, it was too late.
    (that's not true of course)

Actually, for WH HOTAS users, if you have your pinky resting against the paddle switch and your index finger on the top of the MMCB you'll have a bit of a weird grip but it'll keep you from getting a death grip because won't be able to really squeeze. Same for the throttle, try to rest your pinky on the pinky switch and at the same time have your thumb rest on the brake switch. Of course this might vary from person to person but it helped me a lot, even though I have relatively small hands (yeah yeah, I know all those jokes by know )

    Dang, that was tense!

First time I've ever tried to drink from a tanker mid turn. I got a great start on the tanker then the nerves kicked in. Got far too tense and started dancing big time! Managed to tame the beast and finish her off.

ILS with HDR on is horrendous, may aswell have been absolute zero vis! Couldn't see the runway until I was about 500m off it.

Not confident after that but hey, I got this far!
