Thank you Eddie, I was sitting at my home laptop this morning getting it ready for the upgrade for testing wondering if anyone had taken the plung yet, with these reports I plan to start the upgrade on my flight PC tonight.

However, I do have one question: I will be upgrading from Windows 7, will all my files and programs stay in tact?

They "should" do, they did for me when I went from 7 to 8.1. However I went for a clean install rather than an upgrade this time around.

From some information I read this morning, I believe you can manually download it without waiting. I plan to research this option more when I can get home today.

You can indeed, I downloaded the installer and put it on a USB flash drive to install from. I just did a clean install of 8.1 and installed 10 over it right away (nothing at all installed under 8.1). Couldn't get it to run on Wednesday as the activation servers etc were too busy my the sound of it, no problems last night however.

Thank you, that's the information I was reading this morning but ran out of time before I could finish. I plan to work on it tonight.

Just as a note with Saitek driver and windows 10. It your running a x55 or x52 pro, you need to install the driver (do not hit the restart computer after install or it wont work) after every restart of windows. This is to get the key press command to work if you have them programmed in the saitek profiler.

This is just a quick work around until saitek fixes the issues. Its kinda sad they waited this long as the API has been out and stable for a few months.

Edit: Oh I forgot to mention. Do not unplug you flightstick while windows 10 is running. You will not have a good time. If you want to disconnect turn off your computer first.

Eddie, can you confirm or dispel a rumor on Windows 10 updates. I have heard that it forces updates and restarts. Any truth to this or can you update and restart at your convenience like Win 8/8.1?

By default yes it is that way, however you can configure that. I've not done it myself yet, but have read on other forums I frequent that it is configurable to all the way to the point of no auto updates at all.

Ok good, I was hoping that was adjustable. I wasn't looking forward to the inevitable update and restart in the middle of a sortie.

I also saw somewhere that Windows 10 will now by default share updates between pc's in the same network. So no longer downloading every update to every computer in the house.
