    I got one of these - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...odid=MO-081-DE

34 inches of ultra wide awesomeness.

Have it running now hooked up to the Mac and it is truly amazing to behold. 4k can sod off imo, ultra wide is where it's at, especially for gaming.

The monitor really is brilliant, not "too" big on the desk either. The TM MFDs provide good scale I think.

On the left is my old "main" monitor which is a 24" Dell, now turned vertical so it fits on the desk with the 34".

No just the royal mail today, with two more nice packages. PC now up and running, but I've got to do a windows reinstall in a few minutes, because as expected Win 10 won't activate again following the hardware change.

But I am typing this from a running PC, booted into my current windows install. And yes it's a bit annoying that I've got to go from a fully configured install to a fresh one.

Looks like I'll be going Skylake after all. At present, price to performance can't be beat. Certainly, this has changed since its initial release which was laughable.

It's worth mentioning, I'm moving from a 3930K, so the upgrade makes sense. For the record, the only chips I seriously considered as alternatives were the 5820K and the 5930K, and yeah, at present prices and performance differences, the 6700K is the clear winner.

For anyone else looking to upgrade at this time, if you've got a 4th gen Intel CPU that's working, don't. Wait til ~August of next year when E models are finally here.

Prices for the i7 6700K are still insane in the UK (£300 currently so $460). I almost pulled the trigger on the 5820k when I saw it mispriced at £218 but changed my mind at the last minute and decided I'm going to run my Sandy Bridge into the cold hard ground.

I hope that AMD's Zen CPU architecture isn't a total disappointment and can provide some competition for Intel, who seem to have gotten rather complacent after Sandy Bridge.

It's $350 here, while a 5820K is $410, and a 5930K is $610, to say nothing of the implied power costs.
