    Building a new PC?

I'm thinking about building a new PC in the next couple of months. I really want to play DCS with no hiccups whatsover as well as my recording. This is the PC I've built so far, any thoughts or ideas on how to improve it or save money without losing performance? Thanks!

The parts look fine. What's wrong with your existing case/chassis? Also, do you have Win10 installed now? While in theory the license doesn't transfer to a new Mobo, it works currently. That'd knock ~$210 off the parts you found.

Also, I got my 6700k for $319 from Microcenter, though I do see the prices have gone up there and on Amazon. Still, it's $360 currently at Microcenter.

I am keeping my current box intact so that it can become my video editing machine.

I was told to wait until after Christmas to see if prices come down at all.

I'd change the RAM you propose for something like this: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/kingsto...hx424c12sbk216

It's 25 bucks extra but yours has 15ms CAS, these ones have 12ms CAS.

And what Dojo said, you might consider 'acquiring' a fully functional Windows 10 elsewhere if you don't have any moral issues with that so you save on the software price. You can PM me if you need any help with that.

I had a Seagate barracuda HDD and it was loud, slow and died after a few months. Replaced with a Samsung spinpoint F3 HDD that was much quieter and has ran flawlessly for the last 5 years.

I bought a Seagate Barracuda 8 years ago and guess what.. still up and running. Maybe you had a bad one?

Looks like I'm most likely going to be in the market for a new hdd. Seems my drive crashed tonight. All I can get is the bios. Quite agrivating with all the work I've been putting into the sim. Any suggestions?
