    A10c thermals or lack of

So been around this sim since the beginning one thing that drives me crazy is the horrible simulation of the flir systems. Now it's even worse in 1.5 and 2.0. I've used allot of thermal and flir systems at work something needs to be done or re done in dcs. Is their anybody with some insight into this other than changing contrast brightness levels in game.
Seems Ed is dismissive of this and does not take it as a bug report. Any skilled modders around?

No way to mod it or improve it unfortunately. It's a problem that has always been present due to the fact ED just use a colour filter for their IR imaging effect rather than a dedicated set of thermal textures.

Until they model an IR system based on a dedicated texture set (as other games have done in the past) it won't get any better.

I've been seeing talk of modders trying to do a Reskin of all vehicles for a thermal heat map? One can only wish. Thanks for the info !

Well modders could certainly create the textures, that isn't a hard job for an artist with the necessary talent and any good skin artist could do it.

The challenge would be getting the sim to use them, and also implementing things such as thermal crossover in the morning/evening and different characteristics based on ambient temperature etc.

I'm sure you're all too familiar with the issues IR imaging systems can have in the desert summers. I'd love to see that simulated in DCS, both for TGPs etc. and weapons such as IIR Mavericks.
