Hello Pilots,

I just registered for the 476th vFG and just wondering when your recruitments start.

I am an A-10C and Su-27 noob pilot from India and want to upgrade my HAWG pilot skills with you guys.

Unfortunately we hardly have any DCS simmers in India and its even more difficult to find them around here. For some weird reason they are not even registered on the gaming forums that I searched online. So hoping to Fly and Learn from your pilots by being a part of your Squadron after acquiring the necessary qualifications.

I am +05:30 hrs ZULU.

Hi Nash!

Welcome to the forum. It's great to see another nationality represented in the Flight Sim community - I love how it brings people together.

That being said, recruitment is on hold at present. This is partly to do with the transfer from DCS 1.2 to 2.0! (And by extension, Georgia to NTTR). This required a lot of tweaking to our internal mods, documents and procedures. Recruitment will be reopened only when Command Staff are confident that we are operating to the highest standards that we expect of ourselves here at the 476th.

Our training programme is intense, and it would be unfair for us to put you through it if we could not provide the support you need, and at present, our focus is elsewhere.

Recruitment WILL reopen, but do not expect it before DCS 2.0 is moved to stable.

In the meantime, we have a lot of documentation on the downloads section which you can use to train yourself to the standard required for recruitment (Requirements are on the recruitment page). Watching Recon Stewarts videos on Youtube will also assist you greatly.

I look forward to hearing from you when the doors are opened!

Till then I will keep going through Recon Stewart's videos on Youtube which are already downloaded for easy access on my device.

How has practise been coming along?

Well ...
I have been grounded by a crashed GTX 970 ... So just going through Recon videos atm...
Also upgrading the old rig...

The POA for the new RIG is as under;
MoBo: ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING
CPU: i5 6600K
GPU: ZOTAC GRAPHICS CARD GTX 970 4GB DDR5 AMP OMEGA CORE EDITION
RAM :1 * 8GB DDR4 3200 Mhz
PSU: Seasonic 850 Watts
Joystick: Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS
Cooler: Corsair Hydro SeriesTM H110i GTX

I have bought all of above but the CPU and GPU. Those 2 will put me down by huge amounts and I think I should be up and running next month. I am going with i5 over i7 for the cost reasons... may be I can save enuf for the i7 6700k...
Hope this RIG is good enuf for DCS and VR.
