    I am concerned about this because of how valuable Tacview is. Not having any experience with programming, does it seem likely that hte 2.0 version of Tacview can fix or improve this problem? I have selfish reasons as I've been running my new PC without Tacview installed and I'm currently in love with my frame rate...

    So that I understand, if the export.lua is disabled, does that mean flights will not be recorded?

    To be precise Ski, if you comment out this line
    local Tacviewlfs=require('lfs');dofile(Tacviewlfs.writed ir()..'Scripts/TacviewExportDCS.lua')
    in Export.lua file, then yes - your fligh will not be recorded.

    Unchecking this thing worked for me too:

    Holy shit! 55-57 FPS on the DS on Nellis at dawn with Tacview export commented out, 32-33 FPS with Tacview enabled!

    We can't really do without Tacview so I don't think there's anything to discuss but I never knew the drop of FPS on large missions is dependent on Tacview.. Really hope Tacview 2 will make a difference, because the smoothness of a steady 60 FPS vsync'd cockpit is just unparalleled.

    I understand the increase in fps with disabling tacview. However, I also understand the importance of tacview and wonder, to the group, is turning tacview off, and losing the valuable recorded data, worth the sacrifice of fps? Personally, I believe the data from tacview is more essential to making me a better pilot than the fps I would get by disabling it. Please let me know your thoughts.

    I'd rather fly better than debrief better, that's my opinion.
    And that increase in FPS makes a big difference. Plus we can always make the guys with better PC do the recording XD

    Eddie, what is the last time that the server's Tacview has been used? What were the pros and cons of doing that? Would it be worth to test it once more to see what the results are and if/where it affects the server?

    The Tacview of the server isn't generated until the mission stops, so that's a dead option.

    If you're talking going from ~10-15fps to 30fps, fine, although you have bigger problems if your frame rate is that low with Tacview. If you're talking going from ~30fps to ~55fps, bad argument. "Smoother" vs. "Unplayable" aren't the same thing.

    Who is this other person who you're always going to fly with who will enable Tacview if you don't?

    I don't think anyone's going to tell you that you have to use Tacview if it's slowing your machine down to the point of unplayable, but that's not the argument most of you are making.
