Hmm, that sounds more reasonable. Still sits as a bit iffy with me, but obviously it works.
For a FBW/FADEC equipped jet such as the Hornet I guess it's a good approach as you can take data from multiple sources and combine them in the decision logic to prevent false positives. For a pure mechanical aircraft such as the E-2 and others however it would be very risky when a good pilot can do it all anyway.
