    Ground Operations

    3.5 Taxi Procedures.
All aircrews must obtain ATIS information prior to taxi (when available). Include the following information in all calls requesting taxi from Ground Control (GC): Call sign, ATIS letter designation, status of clearance, and parking location.
While reading through the 11-250, I came across this piece that talks about using ATIS to report letter designation to GC. Is ATIS currently available on the DS? Is there a preferred method of letting GC know ATIS is not available?

"When available" meaning most likely when a human controller is used.

Just for clarification, how would that be done? Just ask vocally, right? There is no automated ATIS implemented at this time, right?

Correct, there is currently no ATIS in DCS or through Simple Radio. Once we have an ATIS system, and we have a ground controller, then we would report ATIS. For now, no action required.
