After 3 weeks of mulling it over, I finally decided I want one. Just ordered a Dell UltraSharp Curved U3415W 34 inch. Cant wait to have it on my desk tomorrow!

I really enjoy 21:9. Wasn't sure at first whether I would like it or not, but glad I made that choice!

After trying it out last night I gotta say I love it! It's so much bigger than I'd imagined it would be. It's so much more immersive seeing the horizon over the full width of that ultrawide beauty! I'm just now looking at ways to tweak the FoV, since at standard zoom level I'm basically eating the UFC and miss the top half of my HUD. It seems as if instead of expanding the horizontal plane as I imagined DCS would do at that resolution, it's sticking to the 16:9 FoV and just cropping the screen vertically. Zooming out fixes that, but I'd like to have the center detent of my zoom-axis be useful instead of having to play zoomed out most of the time.

I'll report back here if I find any decent fix for this! I'm reading a lot of (rather old) information about changing the SnapViewsDefault.lua but a lot of people are refuting it's usefulness when using an axis to control the zoom.

Anyways, awesome monitor! Sucks that I have work, I just want to bask in it's glory all day.

I have to hit nun pad enter every time I get in the pit to go to default zoom, from there I see what is in the screenshots I posted. Not had to do any other tweaking.

You can tweak anything in the view setup files, all of the head position and FOV included.
As Eddie said, once it's set up you just need to use a key to snap to that view.

Thanks guys! That did it. I set the default FoV to 100 and if I hit the keyboard shortcut for 'normal zoom' it sets me in a comfortable position in the pit. I'm wondering though, do you guys not use the slider on your throttle for zoom at all? If I touch that it'll reset the zoom back to 'eating the UFC'-mode. After which I have to hit the keyboard shortcut again.

I must say at this resolution with this size of screen I don't really find myself using zoom as much as I did before with my previous monitor.

I don't use the zoom much at all, on the rare occasion I do I have to reset the view afterwards as well.

Good to know! Thanks Eddie. I guess I'm still used to doing it the way I had to with my previous screen. It was only 24" and 1080p, so I was zooming in and out constantly to get things in my view.
