    Hello Everyone

My name is Allen and I am new here. I am very interested in becoming a mission pilot for you guys. I am a retired UH-60 Pilot so I am very familiar with Military Aviation. If someone can nudge me in the right direction I would love to get started with training. Right now my hardware is an alienware PC with dual 1080's and all the lickys and chewies, A-10 Warthog HOTAS, Thrusmaster Rudder pedals and Oculus Rift. Software is DCS A-10C and all campaigns including the basic and advanced qualification missions.

Welcome Frozen. If you haven't already, check out our recruiting page, particularly the membership requirements. Many of us also have Twitch accounts and/or YouTube channels where you can checkout some of our previous flights.

Also, many of our documents are publicly available.

We just accepted a few Euro timezone recruits. On the US side, we are currently finishing up training with a couple folks and will be opening recruiting again soon. Stay tuned to the forums as an announcement will be made when the application window is open. We have a few applications still in from the last period and we are limited on the number of trainees we accept so there may be more applicants than spots. Best advice I can offer is get to know the folks here on the forums, make sure your comfortable in the A-10 doing the minimum events on the recruiting page and get an application in when its open. Again, welcome and please feel free to ask any questions you have.

Edit: You didn't mention in your post if you have NTTR or not but we do all our training on the NTTR map.

    Frozen,

Got sniped by Tex but to expand on the minimum events he talks about:

For a starting point I would suggest you get very familiar with Air to Air refueling. Take a shot at it, if you run into trouble try adjusting your curves on the HOTAS to 30 or so and work your way back down to a comfortable level. Research and learn how to fly an instrument recovery/departure via ILS or TACAN with limited visibility. Make sure you can do a full start up of the A-10, taxi safely within an airfield and lastly a basic ability to deploy all weapons available on the A-10.

If you have any questions about how to set these scenarios up just ask on the forums and someone will provide the details needed to get you started. We all look forward to seeing you around the forums and hopefully with some blue tails in the future.

    Best of luck,

    Frodo

Hi, and welcome to the 476th. I think most have covered everything already. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask.
