The 476th has opened recruiting for F/A-18C pilots. All interested pilots should review the our recruiting page here.

Of note, for our initial batch of Hornet recruits we are looking for pilots who can help us in development of Hornet Mission Qualification Training (MQT) as well as Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs). Especially Air-to-Air combat and Naval operations (which will likely be part of continuation training within the 510th vFS).

The following is an overview of our recruitment process. If you have questions, please feel free to ask. We will post any updates to this recruiting period here.

  • Step 1 - Submit an application. We will review them as they come in. Once our quota of applications is reached, it will automatically be closed. Historically the application window is usually open for about a week.
  • Step 2 - Once we have reviewed all the applications, those that make it to the next step will get a private message (PM) inviting them for an interview on our Discord server.
  • Step 3 - Please join us in Discord during this first week to get to know the pilots of the 476th and for us to get to know you. Ask questions, tell jokes, etc. As a part of this intro week, we will try to host a couple flight nights where recruits and 476th pilots can fly together around NTTR and continue to get to know each other.
  • Step 4 - During the second week, recruits will go through an interview and observation flight. The interview is simply a chance to make sure we are a good fit for you and vice versa. Its also a great time to ask questions. Assuming the interview goes well (they generally always do at this point), we will schedule a quick flight were can can verify recruits can fly TACAN approach and refuel off a tanker.
  • Step 5 - After the two week period of intro and interviews/flights, those pilots accepted will get another PM from the 476th.
  • **Unfortunately, not everyone who applies will be accepted. While we would love to accept everyone, we simply don't have the training capacity to do so. Our training process takes a lot of time and effort by our current pilots and we are limited on how many folks we can accept at one time.
