    Samsung Odyssey Plus

So tonight I was just going to go up Solo, thank god no one was available to do training or it would have been a disaster. Anyways straight to the point. I upgraded from the Odyssey to the Odyssey Plus and tonight was the first night I got on the server with it and it was complete garbage. I'm just wondering if all VR players are having the stuttering issue I was having tonight, or did samsung manage to make a product worse. I was so happy with the regular Odyssey and now I am kicking myself for selling it before I tested the plus. No matter what settings I had it on, i would get massive stutters on the outside of my FOV to the point it was unplayable.

    Sincerely,
    Pissed OFF

That sucks! I’ll be sticking to my Rift until something comes out with at least 720p resolution

    Isn't the Odyssey 1440 something?

Something like the. The first Gen Odyssey was smooth and nice. I honestly don't know if it was DCS that screwed it up or samsung since I bought the new headset and there were updates to DCS around the same time. Single player still seems to be ok but server play seems to be unplayable. Just frustrated.

Is it 720 per eye? Not that I’m aware of, I guess you skipped over that part of my post.

The Odyssey has dual amoled, 1440x1600 per eye seemingly. Unless I'm completely misunderstanding what you mean.

So they are 2880 x 1600 (1440 x 1600 per eye), the same as the Vive Pro but a 1/2 the price. The image is nice and I prefer them over Vive and Oculus but again for whatever reason the Plus is not performing as well as the original Odyssey. Gonna do some troubleshooting this afternoon.

Ok soooo, I'm not sure how to put this....it's not me....it's you. By this I mean, VR runs fine on Single Player and other servers (didn't actually fly just hoped in a few for testing) at a solid 45FPS in each eye with no issues what so ever with most of my settings on high. If I jump into the 476th server my FPS tank to 20FPS. So I thought, what would my FPS be not in VR just for comparison. At my native resolution of 3440x1440 in Single Player and other Servers just sitting in the seat I was at 130-140FPS (all settings set to low this time). But when I got in 476th server my FPS would barely hit 30FPS @ 3440x1440 w/ default low settings. Repeated this multiple times with different settings and the results were all the same. Everywhere else had well above needed FPS but in the 476th server they tank...drastically. I am considering doing a fresh install of DCS to see if this will help, though I can't see why it would. Specs are as follows. 8700K OC to 5.0ghz on all 6 cores, 32 gigs of memory @ 3200mhz, Aorus 1080Ti Waterforce Extreme, 960 evo M.2 1Tb SSD, running on Windows 10. Any Suggestions?

That would explain why it tanked after the last DCS update, it turned TACVIEW back on. Thanks Amy, your my hero.
