Hey Emmy, that could be a real war situation. On the Malvinas war (AKA Falklands war), an A-4 received several hits during a mission over the Soledad Island, many of the hits were on the fuel tanks. He was losing so much fuel and the pilot (Alferez Dellepiane) realised that he could not reach the continent (600 km), he called the tanker, but the tanker was too far from the islands because of the danger of the harriers on the zone.Anyway the kc-130 flew to the islands to reach the A-4 and they meet under the reach of the harriers. The A-4 conected the tanker, but the holes where so big that the fuel went from the tanker to the outside of the plane. So the A-4 flew conected to the tanker (1 hr) until they arrived to San Julian airbase.
