    TrackIR: disconnecting issue

    All,

Since a while I have a D/C issue with TrackIR. In DCS, when my TIR is still for a while either because I hold down the pause button or because my headset is on the desk (pouring a drink, bio break, etc.) I get a TIR D/C message in DCS. In most of the cases this resolves itself and after a split second I get the reconnect message. Occasionally though it doesn't. Only solution then is to crawl behind the PC, D/C the camera and reconnect it.

    What to do?

I've searched for it and most topics instantly go in the direction of USB power management were people voice a ton of frustration and nobody has a definitive solution. My TIR camera is connected to an onboard USB port in the I/O panel of the motherboard, not one of those internal hubs or external hubs.

How many total USB devices connected and through which means (MB Port, USB Expansion, etc.)

I have four external HDDs, a mouse and a printer on my MB ports.
Then I have TIR, JStick, Throttle, 2 x Cougar MFCD Frames, UFC and Headset running off a powered USB Hub plugged into the one remaining MB port.

Nary a glitch to be found here.

My total overview of USB devices:
    1) Keyboard, uses 2 ports, mouse chained to the keyboard
    2) USB DAC
    3) TMWH stick
    4) TMWH throttle
    5) TIR camera
    6) TIR clip (only power, not recognized as a device in windows)
    7) Pedals

1 to 5 are directly connected to the motherboard's I/O panel. Both USB 2 and 3 ports.

6 and 7 are connected to an internal extension or whatever it's called. On of those brackets you connect to your motherboard via a cable.

I think I’d attack this by moving everything up or down by one port with an eye toward that device which has moved into the port previously occupied by TIR. Does it drop offline under similar circumstances to those which seem to negatively affect your TIR?

We talked about this already on Discord, but for future reference, TIR like many 2.0 devices has issues with USB 3.0.

So, I connected the TIR camera unit to a USB 2.0 port. Didn't solve it..
