    Hi everyone!

    Greetings from the Netherlands!

Really attracted to the seriousness of this group. I am currently learning the A10C and maybe in the future deemed proficient enough to join you.

I have played many sims in the past including (combat)Flight Simulator, Falcon 4.0 and F22:ADF. Last year i bought DCS to play in VR (Rift CV1) but my computer was not powerful enough. Since a few months, it is.

Last year i bought the modules: Huey and KA50. In the last sale i bought all the maps, the spitfire and my first DCS Jet: the A10C with a few campaigns. I currently fly only single player to train and prepare myself for a multiplayer future.

Browsing through the member list it seems as though you are very US oriented. Are the times you fly on "friendly" enough for EU based members?

Also, any idea what the waiting time for me would be approximately to be considered for the training group? I ask because then i can estimate when to sign up considering the offline practice i still need.

    Thanks!

I think we are split 50/50 without counting, but looking at our flight night numbers. We have a US /NA dedicated flight night (Friday around 0000z give or take an hour), and an Euro dedicated flight night (Friday 1800z, again give or take an hour). The dedicated nights are not the only time flying takes place though, a lot of pop-up flights go up too.

    Welcome, Tabasco!

As Panther said, we have plenty of European members. Training flights for EU pilots are not a problem, once training slots open.

    Thanks all!
Loving the A10 so far! I am almost through all the training missions. I am practicing in between training by playing other missions or free flights and watching YouTube vids or reading guides/manuals when i am not simming.
When i am done with that and i know the training topics by heart, i am planning on playing the certification campaigns to test my knowledge.

I see you are flying in VR too.. I have a question: It feels like the seating position and the HUD of the A10C in VR is slightly "off" somehow.. I can adjust the seating in the cockpit so i sit a bit lower but still i feel like the HUD is too small to fit all the information on it. Is that correct or did i miss a setting somewhere, somehow?

Yeah the A-10Cs cockpit geometry isn’t correct at all. It’s wrong on a monitor, and the issue is even more pronounced in VR. You can make it a bit better by repositioning your head and then doing a view reset, but that only improves things slightly.

We need to wait for the new cockpit before we’ll (hopefully) it fixed.

I can’t fly VR in the Hawg because of the wrong view. I tried adjusting it but fix one area, two more problems would arise. So hawg is on monitor and TIR.
