    Video Card Recommendations

It has become painfully obvious that my video card just isn't up to handling this sim very well (GX 290) I want to stay with NVidia, but I definately need to start putting the $$ together for a new card. As usual, I am finding a bewildering array of specs and manufacturers.

Is there a NVidia card that works particualrly well with DCS A10 that I should be looking at?

The idea I am going with is to keep the 290 so I can keep my Cintiq on it for drawing and misc stuff, and put my main monitor on the new card for gaming. Does anyone know if I might have a conflict doing this? It will be the first time I have tried a dual card setup. Obviously, I am not going to be setting up SLI in this configuration, so no concerns there.
The rumors of my demise are premature. Ok, I've died twice but I keep coming back, I'm worse than a stray cat!

I went from a gts 250 to gtx 680. The 250 actually ran the sim fine but with a 680 it's a completely new experience. Id just go with what you can afford from a 600 level card the 670 is a great deal for the money and very close to a 680 performance wise. I would have gone that route but the 680 I wanted came in stock first.

As far as new video cards, I'd say anything by EVGA. Its a name brand thing like Armani but you get what you pay for. Considering this they are expensive and they put out a couple different series of cards, based on the model number will tell you about the warranty. See the site below. Once you have a problem and have contacted them its a relatively painless no hassle 1-for-1 replacement. I've been using their video and motherboards for about 5 years now. This is my 5 built computer and before this and the one before it I experimented with different setups and manufacturers quite frankly because I didnt put enough research into reading hundreds of reviews. I have since learned that computers are one of the few things where prices are actually justified.

Well to be fair, I'm running a 570 so it's not like I'm miles behind the curve. Until the 600 series was released I was pretty much at the top end of performance, and it's not like DCS as suddenly started pushing even the 570s capabilities.

I'll most likely be skipping the 600 series, and maybe the 700 series (or whatever it ends up being) and end up with whatever comes after that. I upgraded to the 570 from a 275 and even that card was only just starting to fall behind.

I'm running a Gts250 and bought a 570 the past week too. I'm waiting for delivery yet.
