Hammer - this evening might be a bit tight but 7 tomorrow should be fine (off all day yay). I'll get the necessary comms software installed this evening.
Hey, Jackdaw (keep wanting to type "Jacksaw"...silly American!). Great to see you're interested and you're getting all the help one could want at the start. I'd like to give you two bits of advice: 1) Start getting used to the start-up checklist and begin bringing the jet up from a cold start the hard way; it'll seem daunting at first but once you get the hang of it, it'll breeze right by. And with a Warthog at hand, it'll be even easier; 2) Fly the training missions as much as possible. It'll save a lot of wear and tear on you and your I.P. if you've got the basics cold when you come over, otherwise you'll be spending a lot of time going over awfully simple things. If you have trouble with a certain part, that's different, of course.
Looking forward to seeing you on the roster once recruitment opens up!

Thanks for all the advice and encouragement folks. Special thanks to Hammer for taking the time out to help me set up TARS. Much appreciated !!

I was in a similar situation when I started, couldn't even do a cold start. But this is a great group of guys, and while I still have a ways to go, they have already taught me a lot. I am out for a personal situation right now, but I hope to finish up quickly once I get back, and get a slot opened up for someone else. Also +1 on helping others, I have a goal of becomming an IP in time, and give back what I have been given here.
The rumors of my demise are premature. Ok, I've died twice but I keep coming back, I'm worse than a stray cat!
