Hi Everyone!
I just wanted to write up a quick post to introduce myself and to say hello! My name is James and I'm a 39 year old computer engineer out of Kansas City. I have had a love for the viper ever since I watched Doug and Chappy drop the Hades bomb when I was a kid!
After high school I tried to get in to fly vipers but there were some minor issues with that (turns out a fear of heights makes it hard to fly, I guess? )
I started playing flight games all the way back in 1990 with a game called "PilotWings" and then got more serious into sims in the mid-90s with A-10 Tank Killer 2 and F-22 Lightning II, eventually moving more into Microsoft's Flight Sim world and out of the combat. Thankfully, DCS came along and gave me a chance to experience much better combat simulation so I got back into it. I've been flying the viper for quite a while now and have racked up several hundred hours both in single player PvE and in some more casual mil-sim groups. 476th was recommended to me a few days ago as THE place to go to really learn how to fly the right way and after watching some of the training videos I was 100% hooked.
So, yeah, I plan on lurking in here until the viper slots open up and hopefully I will get to join the group as an official pilot soon! I am excited to learn, grow, and to give my absolute best effort to the group and I'm excited to be part of it!
